The Effect of 6 weeks of Combined Rehabilitation Program (electrical stimulation and isometric contraction) on pain and function in athletes with knee osteoarthritis
Design
The clinical trial consisted of three experimental group and a control group, with parallel and random groups. The Random allocation software was used for randomization
Settings and conduct
The present study is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design with three experimental groups and one control group. 32 Athletes with Knee Osteoarthritis are randomly divided into four test and control groups. Pain and performance variables are measured before and after exercise.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: having mild to moderate primary osteoarthritis, male gender, not having any arthroscopic surgery; Exclusion criteria: taking painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs, participating in any exercise program at least six months before the research
Intervention groups
The first intervention group includes athletes with knee osteoarthritis who receive electrical stimulation intervention. The second intervention group includes athletes with knee osteoarthritis who receive isometric contraction intervention. The third intervention group includes athletes with osteoarthritis of the knee who receive the intervention of electrical stimulation and isometric contraction. The control group includes athletes with osteoarthritis of the knee who do not receive the intervention.

Randomization description
The simple Randomization Method was used to assign individuals to 4 groups that in this method, Random Allocation Software was used to create a random sequence. Then, in order not to determine which group the individuals will be assigned to before dividing them into two groups, or in other words, allocation concealment, the central randomization method was used.
