Comparison of the effect of "conflict management" training based on the Fogg model and teaching methods using lecture and multimedia on attitude, skills, and conflict management styles of medical students at Tehran University of Medical Sciences
Design
A double-blind, non-randomized, control and intervention group study was conducted to teach conflict management to first-year medical students. The sample size was calculated based on the formula of 35 people for each group, with a 20% dropout of 44 people for each group.
Settings and conduct
The place of study is the Tehran University of Medical Sciences Faculty of Medicine. The evaluators and statisticians will not know about the intervention and control groups (double-blind study).
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Medical students at TUMS
Employed to study in the first year
Willingness to participate in the study
Intervention groups
First, a pre-test will be conducted for all participants of the control and intervention groups. Then, the control group will receive the usual training method for two months (the training program includes lectures and multi-media). Immediately after the end of the 2-month period, the post-test will be performed. Then the educational intervention was designed based on the fog model for the intervention group, (its educational program includes electronic content, attractive short clips, the implementation of scenarios, and role-playing by students in the form of small learning groups and the sending of appropriate notifications) during 2 months. Immediately after the educational program's end, the intervention group's post-test will also be implemented.

The training and role-playing sessions of the students were videotaped and the evaluators blindly evaluated the performance of the teams and each of the students in the stage of the effect of the training on the students' skills. Also, in the analysis stage, the data analyst performed the analysis with codes 1 and 2 specific to each intervention and control group, and there was no information that each code was related to which group.
