In the control group and the trained companion, the samples were taken from 10 clinics of different parts of the Arak city by random sampling method using the SIB center system. Then, among selected numbers, we randomly selected samples for each group. But in Doula group, because of limited number of samples, convenience sampling was used and all women enrolled in doula care were included in the study until the number reached 50

Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria

The criteria for entering: Low-risk pregnant women aged 18 to 40 years, Gestational age of 38 to 42 weeks, Spontaneous onset of labor pains, And Healthy, Live, Single fetus with display of head and normal cervical delivery conditions.The criteria for not enterain:Any physical and Mental disease

Intervention groups

For the samples of the trained companion group, Two training sessions were given in the presence of mothers and their selected companion on the course of labor and techniques to reduce labor pain, skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding. People in the care group were selected by doulas from private midwifery centers that were available. In these centers, a doula is considered for all mothers and during labor, mothers are trained according to their routine.The samples of the control group were taken care by the usual routine of medical training centers.
