Treatment effect of motivational interviewing techniques on self-efficacy and self-esteem on women under intimate partner violence
Design
Clinical trial with control group, with parallel groups, randomized, on 130 spouses
Settings and conduct
Ibn-e-Sina hospital in Mashhad
For the intervention group, 5 sessions of motivational interviewing will be held twice a week for 2 hours each time.
The control group will receive routine care.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria for women will be considered the lack of speech and hearing problems, no history of drug abuse, not having a history of participation in the motivational interviewing training workshop, live with her spouse (at the time of the study), at least 1 year passed since her marriage time, be the only legal wife of patient, no history of disabling and major medical and psychological problems.
Women who will absent from training program more than one session, those who will not complete the post-test and those who living separately from their spouse during the 2 months after the spouse's discharge until the post-test time, will excluded from the study.

Randomization description
In this study, the randomization method is the “permuted block randomization” method. with the following steps:
1- Women internship groups of 4 or 5. Our required sample size will be 130 women, and the names of the groups will be written on the paper.
2- We put the papers into the lottery bottle and mix thoroughly. We place each one randomly in an envelope.
3- Then women will be randomly assigned to A and B groups through sealed envelopes.
