The effect of educational intervention based on Protection Motivation Theory in increasing َIntention of dentists to providing dental care to AIDS/HIV-positive patients
This study is an experimental type. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention based on Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) in ncreasing intention of dentists to providing dental care to AIDS/HIV-positive patients. First, 80 dentist who are working in the Shahriar city having inclusion criteria will be selected and randomly assigned into intervention and control group (40 dentists in each group). Pre-test for assessing PMT variables (inclide behavior intention, percieved vulnerability, percieved severity, self-efficacy, response cost, response efficacy and fear) will be done for both groups. After performing pre-test and analyzing the data, educational intervention will be designed according to the pre-test results. Then, educational intervention will be performed for the intervention group. The two groups are followed 1 month after the intervention and the effect of intervention in ncreasing َintention of dentists to providing dental care to AIDS/HIV-positive patients in the two groups will be assessed. Finally, data will be analysez using the SPSS.
