The aim of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of storytelling in anxiety among 4 to 7 children admitted to hospital for several reason.
Methods: This research is a clinical trial that was experimented among hospitalized children in Shafa and Golestan hospitals of ahvaz. sampling was done randomly. In this study. Samples were 40 children hospitalized that were selected based on the Spence 's Preschool Anxiety Scale. After completing a research tool by mothers in both groups, the samples were randomly divided into two groups; sample sizes for each experimental and control groups was 20 equally. Experimental group had 4 sessions of treatment for 20 minutes per each session at separate days. in the control group, only daily conversation was performed. At the end 4 sessions, questionnaires were completed by mothers in both groups. A month later, questionnaires were completed by mothers in the intervention group.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: hospitalization; age 4 to 7 years; familiar with Persian language; during interventional procedures, no specific treatment is not done on child; Relative rest; child hospitalization remain be at least 5 days. Exclusion criteria from the study: unwillingness to cooperate during the the study; agent or drug that can affect on child attention; child discharged from hospital.
