Comparison of interactive and non interactive e-learning about brain death and organ donation on knowledge of intensive care unit nurses and their satisfaction with the teaching method
The aim of the study: Comparing the effectiveness of interactive and non-interactive e-learning on knowledge of intensive care nurses about brain death and organ donation and determining their satisfaction with teaching method
Study design: Non-randomized controlled trial (experiment and control)
Study population:All ICU nurses of hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences
Main inclusion criteria: Registered nurses with bachelor's degree or higher, at least 6 months experience in intensive care, internet access at home or work
Main exclusion criteria: unwillingness to continue participation in the study or moving to other wards during the study
Sample size: At least 32 nurses in each group (with 10 percent drop estimation)
Study intervention: Eligible nurses will divide in experiment and control groupsو non randomize. Then, the experiment group will receive educational content about brain death and organ donation interactively which is case defining with questioning and giving feedback and is web based and online. In control group which is non interactive group, educational content will present offline in a explanatory PDF file without any questioning, feedback and any cases.
Duration of intervention: 4 months
Outcomes of the study: Nurses' knowledge and their satisfaction
