The study purpose is determine the effect of educational program on nurse's attitude and level of confidence regarding management of violent situation. Having 22-55 years old, experiencing violence at least 3-4 times, At least 6 months experience in emergency ward are inclusion criteria's and Exclusion criteria's are unwillingness to continue the study and vacation or absence more than two weeks. Study population is all nurses working in emergency wards of Khorramabad educational hospitals. The sample size is 90 that will be selected trough simple random sampling method and with informed consent will be divided in to two groups of intervention and control trough random block sampling method. The survey tool is a 4-part questionnaire (demographic data, part of exposure to aggression and violence, part of the confidence area in the management of aggressive behavior and the attitude to aggression of the nurses' point of view) that reliability (by 10 members of the expert faculty teaching at the Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences) and validity (0.87 for violence, 0.97 for self-confidence and 0.98 for attitude) is approved. In the intervention group training program (techniques to deal with violence in order to calm the patients and their relatives, discussing the avoidance behaviors of aggression, self-defense, non-threatening atmosphere) is run over 16 sessions within a month. And then the nurses' level of confidence and attitude regarding violence and aggression in the emergency department, before and one month after the training program will be recorded. And statistical analysis using SPSS software at the significant level of 0.05, is performed.
