1) Objectives: The aim of this research was assessing the effect of emergency severity index triage system training on knowledge, and decision-making of senior medical student. 2) Design: 150 senior medical students will enter to the study. 3) Setting and conduct: Students are randomly divided into two groups (100 students in intervention, 50 students in control) based on computer software. Firstly, a questionnaire on demographic status and level of knowledge and decision-making of the triage will be presented. In the intervention group, a triage training workshop will be conducted, but this workshop will not be held for the control group. The questionnaire will be filled in again by the students after the end of the workshop. Learning in the control group is empirically while during the training course in the emergency department. Four weeks later, the same questionnaires will be returned to the students of both groups for completion. In order to allow the control group students to complete the triage training workshop, after completing the second questionnaire, a triage training workshop will be held for them. 4) Participants including major eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria: all senior medical students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and Azad University in 2017. Exclusion criteria include the unwillingness to cooperate with the study and absence in any tests. 5) Intervention: Triage workshop is based on the latest guideline of emergency severity index, which consists of 2 60-minutes sessions. 6) Main outcome measures variables: The knowledge and decision-making of medical student will be compared.
