Comparison of two educational interventions on varnish fluoride therapy (VFT) on practical skills of health-workers of Tehran at two groups; 1- trained by multimedia and 2- multimedia and group discussion session
According to the increasing rate of dental caries, prevention, specially in children is necessary. One of the preventive methods is varnish fluoride therapy. Due to the limited access to dentists for all people and highly priced services using of health workers for simple preventive services seems to be a suitable solution. The goal of this study is evaluating of teaching VFT to volunteer Health Worker of Municipality of Tehran, and we use two different educational methods. This study is an interventional and educational study. The target population for VFT is volunteer students at primary school. 50 health workers participate in this study and are educated in two different ways. The first group learns the skills by multimedia and the second group by multimedia and a discussion session. Then every health worker do VFT on 4 children. Then the practice of each group will be evaluated. Finally, we compare the average mark of each group to compare the effectiveness of two educational methods.
