Comparing the effect of family-centered and child-centered two educational methods on anxiety before surgery in children 6-12 years in Salman Farsi and Persian Gulf Martyrs hospitals Bushehr in 1395.
The main purpose of present study is to compare the effect of two educational methods (family-centered and child-centered), on anxiety before surgery in children 6-12 years in Salman farsi and Persian gulf martyrs hospitals in bushehr in 1395. The main inclusion criteria is elective surgeries and tend for children and their parents to participate in the study. The exclusion criteria include the presence of mental retardation in child, a history of previous surgery and non-cooperative parents. The samples include 70 children 6-12 years ready for surgery who are randomly divided in two intervention groups in 35 number. We take a pre-test from both groups before intervention. In one group, educational intervention, include oral education to parents about surgery and strategies of reducing children's anxiety. In other groups, educational intervention, include showing the multimedia in order to orient the surgery ward, recovery room, monitoring equipment and oxygen mask. After the intervention be take post test, from both groups in the morning of surgery in surgical ward. Expected outcomes of this study are to reduce anxiety in children 6-12 year before surgery.
