The study will investigate the effectiveness of the communication skills training on the violence state against the nurses working in the emergency wards. to achieve the aim of this study, in 2016, 44 nurses working in the emergency wards of the hospitals affiliated to The Social Security Organization of Isfahan province will be selected using sampling; and then will be divided randomly into the two groups of intervention and control. At the beginning of the study, the national project of the workplace violence questionnaire will be filled out by nurses. then the intervention group will participate in the eight-hour course of communication skill training. after completing the course both groups will be reassessed by the mentioned questionnaire. after analyzing data all the training will be offered to the control group too.

Inclusion criteria:Willingness to participate in research; having a nursing degree (undergraduate or graduate); at least one year experience in the emergency department; participation in the training course on communication skills in the past year; lack of any debilitating disease; normal mental status.
Exclusion criteria:Unwillingness to participate or continue the study; discharge or transfer to another department or hospital; Physical, emotional and mental severe or debilitating conditions.
