Chronic renal failure is one of the important health problems in world. The chronic and disabling situation of the disease, longtime treatment and other problems need to recognize the educational needs based on nursing theories. The concept of self-transcendence is based on self-transcendence theory which was developed by Reed. Based on this theory by promoting of illness perception, the self-transcendent will increase. Environmental perception will be increased by self-transcendent and it helps the patients to increased life view in order to face life challenges in maintaining a constant state of wellbeing. The present investigation seeks to examine the impact of self-care education program based on Self-transcendence theory on patients undergoing hemodialysis.
This is Randomized Controlled Trial and intervention is face to face education based on patient’s educational needs and educational handbook that will be done in hemodialysis center in Tabriz, Iran. Convenience sampling will be selected based on the patient’s interesting to participate in research and their physical situation and then they will be allocated in two groups by simple randomize sampling. Tools will be filled by patients before and two weeks after intervention.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: tendency to participate in research; age older than18 and younger than 60 years old; ability of speaking and completing the questionnaire; having hemodialysis duration between 6 months to 5 years; if the duration of dialysis is more than 5 years and their points in needs assessment questionnaire are less than 45 points they will be included in the study sample; ability of hearing and speaking to participate in face to face education; favorable moral and psychological status for participating in educational program. having regular hemodialysis in week, 2 or 3 times. Exclusion criteria: don’t have tendency to participate through the process of research; having physical or psychological problem; participating in another research with education.

Description
Intervention Group:
Six face to face educational session will be done with patients and also their participation. Self-transcendence questionnaire will be completed by samples before and two week after intervention. In first session, educational needs of participants will be asked and it will be prioritized and in other sessions they will be discussed.
