Study aim
Comparing the Effects of disaster risk education through lectures and game method on high school students' knowledge in Shiraz 1) Comparing the effect of hazard education through lecture and game method on students' knowledge 2) Comparing the effect of vulnerability education through lecture and game method on students' knowledge 3) Comparing the effect of capacity education through lecture and game method on students' knowledge 4) Comparing the effect of risk education through lecture and game method on students' knowledge
Design
In this study 332 students from first, second and third grade high school were selected. The participants were randomly divided into two groups of 20 students. The first group was educated by lecture method and the next one by game method.
Settings and conduct
The trial was conducted in Shiraz, Fars province, Iran. Shiraz has 4 education districts. After providing a list of schools in all areas, a boys school and a girls school were randomly selected from each district. Subsequently, two available classes including 20 students were educated by lecture and game method. This trial was Single blind. scholars, school administrators and students were blind participants. Blinding was done by coding and random allocation.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Shiraz high school students in the academic year of 2016 - 17
Intervention groups
First group: High school Students who were educated in the disaster risk management through lecture Method. Second group: High school Students who were educated in the disaster risk management through game Method.
Main outcome variables
The changes in the level of high school students' knowledge through different educational intervention

Randomization description
Samples were selected by Cluster random method. In the first stage of sampling, a list of schools was provided in four education districts of Shiraz and a code was given to each school. Subsequently, a boys school and a girls school were randomly selected from each district. In the second stage, two available classes including 20 students were selected. Then, one of the groups was randomly educated by the lecture method and the next one by the game method.

Blinding description
A formal letter from Department of Education was sent to selected schools and time was set for educational intervention in students. In this study, school administrators and students were unaware of different educational methods. Schools, classes, and students were coded. َAlthough the evaluators were aware of the groups' responses, there was no possibility to enter their opinion because the test had questions with four options.
