Determining the effect of principles of professional ethics counseling on compliance and applicability rate of professional ethics codes of midwifery in Midwives working in community health centers in 2018
Design
Parallel group randomized trial, not blinded
Settings and conduct
In the intervention group will be presented group counseling and in control group will be presented educational booklet related to professional midwifery ethics. The content of the sessions in the intervention group includes two sessions of training and familiarization with 85 midwifery professional ethics codes in Iran. In the next four sessions counseling will be done based on the ethics codes of the reproductive health service providers and the identification of the most important and challenging codes of any domain of education and counseling.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
inclusion criteria:
1- Having satisfaction to participate in the study
2- Having a Bachelor or Midwifery degree
3. At least one year of work experience associated with midwifery
4. Not attending meetings or workshops related to professional ethics for at least the last six months
5. Failure to refer to the medical system and other relevant authorities for explanation of professional performance or refusal
Exclusion criteria:
1. Unwillingness to continue studying
2. More than 5% defect in completing the questionnaire
3. Not attending more than one counseling session in the intervention group
Intervention groups
In the intervention group will be presented group counseling (with 6-9 people) related to professional midwifery ethics in 6 sessions /90 minutes each week, and in control group will be presented educational booklet related to professional midwifery ethics.
