This study is a semi-experimental study of a randomized clinical trial. Sixty-seven primary school students in district 1 of Tehran were randomly divided into intervention and control groups using pre-test and post-test. In order to collect data in both groups, an awareness-gauging questionnaire, attitude, and handwashing handwashing inventory were used.

Settings and conduct

Selecting an area from randomly selected areas of education, choosing a randomly clustered area, choosing two boys and two girls' schools randomly and then randomly assigning a boys school and a girls' school as an intervention group and a boys' And a girls' school in the control group and a random sampling of the third grade students of that school if that school has more than a third grade class.

Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria

maximum age of at least 8-10, a child or parent's consent, not attending similar research, lack of concentration disorders and none of the child's parents are a member of the health staff. Exit criteria: Non-attendance at one of the training sessions, the individual's or parents' dissatisfaction with continuing cooperation, the occurrence of any stressful events during the implementation of the training program.

Intervention groups

38 students from the 3rd grade elementary school received hand-held instruction in 3 class sessions using posters, films and animations. 38 students were in the control group and did not receive any training.
