Aims: this study was the effect of theater therapy on the depression and anxiety of war devotes physical handicap of more than 70 percent. Materials & Methods: 12 imposed war devotes were chosen in multi stage random cluster sampling and were placed in two experimental and control groups. The subscales of depression and anxiety of SCL-90-R test were administered to the experimental and control group as pre-tests. The experimental group received theater therapy for 28 weeks and each week for 2 sessions. And try to play a piece in 4 sections. Immediately after this performance, the subscales of depression and anxiety of SCL-90-R were administered as the post- test to both groups.
