Effectiveness of an Instructional Program on Nurses-midwifes' Knowledge and Practices about Application of Ethical Rules at the Delivery Room in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Children Hospital in Kirkuk City
To determine the effectiveness of Instructional program on nurses – midwives’ knowledge and Practices about Application of Ethical Rules at the delivery room in Kirkuk City Hospitals and Identifying the relationship between these nurse- midwives’ knowledge and Practices and their demographic characteristic.
Design
A one-group quasi-experimental design (per-test, and post-test) was used to achieve the above objectives. The total sample size 50 between a midwife and a nurse working in the delivery room
Settings and conduct
The study was conducted in the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Kirkuk city. It is the main specialty hospital in the aforementioned city. The questionnaire was filled out and the program was presented in the Continuing Medical Education Hall of the above-mentioned hospital for 50 nurse-midwives working in the delivery room to achieve the above-mentioned goals
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: the nurse-midwife working in the delivery room, who did not participate in any course on professional health ethics.
Exclusion criteria: any nurse-midwife who did not speak, read, or write the Arabic language efficiently was excluded, because the questionnaire tool was in Arabic.
Intervention groups
Intervention group: the starting point will start from distributing a questionnaire about the knowledge and practices of nurses - midwives to assess the level of their knowledge and practices before conducting the intervention ( per - test ) . After that , the educational program prepared according to the Iraqi ethical code is given over three section after one week of the completion of the program made a post - test 1 and after month later , a post - test 2 is performed

Increase knowledge and improve professional ethical performance in the delivery room

Intervention group: The starting point of the intervention phase will begin by asking participants to answer a questionnaire containing a set of questions on professional ethical knowledge as well as a set of 20 stories about ethical issues that may arise in the delivery room to determine the extent to which midwives comply with ethical rules in ethical decision-making.
