Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the Impact of teaching of thinking skills on attitude and ability of senior nursing students for the application of nursing process. Design: In this clinical trial study, 66 students who Last semester of nursing in Tehran Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, If the students have all inclusion criteria includes: Willingness students to participate will be enrolled in the study. Exclusion criteria: unwillingness to continue participate in the study; Refusing to whole participate in thinking skill workshop and not delivering questionnaires. Intervention: Students will be assigned after the simple random sampling to experiment and control groups. Before commence of the intervention will be measured students attitude by attitude questionnaire and ability to apply nursing process, researcher-made questionnaire which its validity and reliability will be determined. After that students in the experiment group will train thinking skills based on Six Thinking Hats in a 2 days workshop (8 hours). In the first session the basics and fundamental of thinking, and the Six Thinking Hats will be teach, in the second session use and practice of the Six Thinking Hats by providing two clinical scenarios will be discussed. While students in control group will receive only routine training. Finally, again the attitude and the ability to apply the nursing process after training and one month after the training will be measured and compared. Main outcome measures (variables): Attitude and the ability to apply the nursing process.
