To survey the effectiveness of dialectic-behavioral therapy with a religiosity approach on intimate partner violence 38 men who had committed physical violence against their partners were assessed in a randomized controlled trial. men with physical violence during two months ego were entered in study and those with two absences in therapeutic sessions were omitted from study. Blocking randomized allocation was used to divide the sample into intervention and comparison groups. The therapy used in the intervention group was dialectic- behavioral therapy with a religiosity approach. Cognitive therapy was used for the comparison group assessment of violation. Religiosity was assessed two months before and after treatment with a validated intimate partner violence questionnaire of the Tehran Medical University and a modified Religiosity Project Scale from Boston University. Dialectic-behavioral therapy with a religiosity approach in the treatment of physical or psychic violence is effective than cognitive therapy. Religiosity has a negative correlation with intimate partner violence.
