Objectives:Determination of effect of dignity therapy on hope level and dignity in patients with major depressive disorder.Design: Randomly and individually according to study, first The control group and then, the intervention group was to complete the sample size. Setting and conduct: 58 Patients with major depressive disorder, hospitalized at Ibn Sina hospital of Mashhad, will be assigned to dignity therapy (n=28) and control groups (n=30). Major Inclusion criteria:willingness to participate in study; The definitive diagnosis of major depressive disorder by a psychiatrist; The ability to at least read and write; The lack of mental and physical disorders simultaneously.Major Exclusion criteria: Unwillingness to continue to participate in the study; Lack of cooperation from the patient's family or friends to participate in the study and received a document generator; Introduction of another psychiatric diagnosis (by a psychiatrist) During the study. Interventions:Dignity therapy:In an interview for 30 to 45 minutes, The therapist will gives to patient the opportunity to remember aspects of life such as pride or things that he was and is a significant part of life history who likes.Then during two sessions of 45 to30 minutes, the patient conversations recorded, transcribed and edited And after confirmation of patient , in the form of a document generator will be returned to him toThe patient with people who are willing to share.The control group will receive usual care. main outcome measures (variables): Questionnaire human dignity and Herth Hope Index that they will be performed immediately before intervention and two month after.
