Objective of study: This study is designed for comparision of effectiveness of positive parenting program on parenting style, unplesure affects, child-parent relationship and child bihavior problems on mothers of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with Seperation anexiety disorder children.
Design of the study: Randomized, experimental and control groups, pretest and postest.
Setting and conduct of study: Before starting the intervention, pretests about Parenting skills, maternal unplesure affects, mother-child relationship and children’s behavioral problems were evaluated. Then Both groups will get positive parenting program including 180 minutes group sessions for five weeks and 15-30 minutes telephone contacts for three weeks. At the end of the program, posttests will complete.
a) Participants:
Inclusion criteria: The child had received diagnosis of ADHD or SAD by both, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and an interview based on DSM-IV by clinical psychologist; the target child was between 6 and 10 years of age (early school age); at least 7 grades education in mother; family was interested in participation in this intervention.
Exclusion criteria: Having psychotherapy by child now; having psychotherapy by mother now ; taking new medication or any chenge in dosage or type of drug in the last month by child for psychological problems; taking new medication or any chenge in dosage or type of drug in the last month by mother for psychological problems; participating in positive parenting program by parents before; comorbidity of ADHD and SAD; having criteria of psychotic disorders, pervasive developmental disorders, mental retardation and brain injuries in child based on diagnosis of child and adolescent psychiatrist and researcher based on an clinical interview based on DSM-IV.
sampels: Fifteen mothers with ADHD children and 15 mothers of SAD children will assigne in to two groups.
b) Intervention or interventions in the study: positive parenting program is including 180 minutes group sessions for five weeks and 15-30 minutes telephone contacts for three weeks.
c) Duration of intervention: Two months.
