Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and satisfaction from podcasting in pedodontics education, find the problems and assess the impact of these practices on the scores of pedodontics in dental students of Rafsanjan in 2014.
Materials and Methods: Inclusion criteria are Dental students in Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences that have Pedodontics course in 2014. This study was a randomized clinical trial which considered all 39 students in Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences. First session of pedodontics lesson was conducted for the students (n=39). The students were then divided randomly into two groups. At the second session, Group 1 students(n=19) had a study session followed by an exam. This was followed by a podcast about first session lesson. Group 2 students(n=20) had a study session along with an opportunity to listen to a podcast, followed by the exam. At the third session, this method repeated; after the final exam, satisfaction of this method as well as its problems was evaluated by a questionnaire. Podcasting effectiveness was assessed by comparing the scores of pedodontics exams across the two groups.
