Study aim
-
The effect of hot water shower and birthing on the intensity of active labor pain in primiparous women
-
Design
-
On three cards marked with the letters C-A-B, where card A represents the birth ball group, card B represents the hot shower group, and card C represents the control group. The intervention consisted of 20 minutes of exercise with a birthing ball (sizes 55 and 65) at dilations of 4 cm, 6 cm, and 8 cm. After the intervention, the intensity of pain was measured at the three dilation times mentioned. In the second group, a hot shower with a temperature of 38-40 degrees was used for 20 minutes at the final dilations of 4 cm, 6 cm, and 8 cm, which lasted for one hour in total, and was performed on the lumbar and sacral areas.Routine maternity care is also used in the control group.

Settings and conduct
-
After receiving a written letter of introduction from Hamedan University of Medical Sciences and Malayer Faculty of Medical Sciences and obtaining permission from Mehr Malayer Hospital, the samples are initially included in the study based on meeting the research entry criteria and obtaining consent.
-
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
-
Primiparous women between the ages of 18-35, women in the beginning of the active phase of labor (3-4 cm dilation and uterine contractions for 30 seconds and 3 contractions in 10 minutes), gestational age 37-42 weeks, singleton fetus, breech presentation, absence of fetal heart disorder

Intervention groups
-
The intervention in the first group was 20 minutes of exercise with a birthing ball (sizes 55 and 65) at dilations of 4 cm, 6 cm, and 8 cm. In the second group, a hot shower with a temperature of 38-40 degrees was used in the lumbar and sacral region for 20 minutes at final dilations of 4 cm, 6 cm, and 8 cm. Routine maternity care is also used in the control group.
