This study aimed to determine the effect of multimedia virtual education on childbearing preferences and motivations in couples about to get married.
Design
This study is a semi-experimental study, single-blind with parallel groups (90 couple in each group). Sampling will be continues. Two centers from among the four eligible health centers will be selected. To minimize information contamination between groups, one center assigned to the intervention group and another to the control group.
Settings and conduct
Fazel and Taghiniya comprehensive health center with premarital counseling classes, will be considered for intervention and control group, respectively. Participants in Intervention group will be placed in groups of 9 to 11 people. For four weeks, three offline training sessions will be implement each week on the subject of childbearing in the Bale application. The outcome assessor will be blinded to the allocation of individuals into groups.
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Iranian nationality; At least a middle school education; Access to a smartphone and the Bale platform; Access to the internet.
Exclusion criteria: History of mental illness (e.g., depression, anxiety); Use of psychiatric medication; Known infertility in either partner; Previous participation in similar programs; Prior marriage.
Intervention groups
Intervention group: Receives multimedia educational content about childbearing, prepared by the Ministry of Health and the researcher, three times per week for four weeks via the Bale platform (offline). Additionally, weekly live Q&A sessions are held.
Control group: No receives multimedia educational content about childbearing.
