    Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the effects of selenium supplementation on metabolic profiles, inflammatory factors and biomarkers of oxidative stress in Coronary Heart Disease (CVD). Study design: parallel double-blind randomized controlled clinical trial. Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria: Invituals aged 45-75 years diagnosed with CVD will be included in this study. Individuals with neurological and physical problems such as Kidney disease coupled with heart disease, patients in addition with heart disease facing Chronic pain from Reins, rheumatism Etc and patients who were used from psychiatric drugs simultaneously will be excluded in the study. Population and sample size: 60 subjects with CVD eligible and referred to Naghavi Clinic affiliated to Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Kashan, Iran in the study will be selected. Intervention: Patients will be assigned to receive either 200 µg selenium supplements (intervention group: n=30) or placebo (control group: n=30). Fasting blood samples will be taken at baseline and after 8-wk intervention to measure metabolic profiles, inflammatory factor and biomarkers of oxidative stress. Start and End Date of Intervention: 8 weeks (July 1, 2014-Sebtember 1, 2014). Outcomes: Fasting plasma glucose (FPG), serum insulin, lipid profiles, inflammatory factors and biomarkers of oxidative stress will be measured at baseline and end-of-trial.

    هدف: هدف این مطالعه تعیین اثرات مکمل یاری سلنیوم بر پروفایل های متابولیک، فاکتورهای التهابی و بیومارکرهای استرس اکسیداتیو در بیماری کرونر قلبی است. طراحی مطالعه: تصادفي کارآزمایی بالینی دو سوکور موازی. معیار ورود و خروج مطالعه: افراد 75-45 ساله مبتلا به بیماری کرونر قلبی در این مطالعه وارد خواهند شد. افراد مبتلا به مشکلات عصبی و کوموربید جسمی نظیر بیماری کلیوی همراه با بیماری قلبی، بیمارانی که علاوه بر بیماری قلبی با درد مزمن ناشی از کمر، رماتیسم و غیره مواجه هستند، بیمارانی که از داروهای روانی به طور همزمان استفاده می کردند از مطالعه خارج خواهند شد. حجم نمونه و جمعیت مورد مطالعه: 60 فرد مبتلا به بیماری کرونر قلبی واجد شرایط و ارجاع شده به کلینیک نقوی وابسته به دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کاشان، کاشان، ایران در مطالعه انتخاب خواهند شد. مداخله مورد مطالعه: بیماران برای دریافت مکمل 200 میکروگرم سلنیوم (گروه مداخله: 30=n) یا پلاسبو (گروه کنترل: 30=n) تقسیم خواهند شد. نمونه خون ناشتا در ابتدای مطالعه و 8 هفته بعد از مداخله برای تعیین پروفایل های متابولیک، فاکتورهای التهابی و بیومارکرهای استرس اکسیداتیو از بیماران گرفته خواهد شد. زمان مداخله: 8 هفته (از 10 تیر 1393 تا 10 شهریور 1393). پيامدها: گلوکز پلاسمایی ناشتا، سطوح سرمی انسولین، پروفایل های لیپیدی، فاکتورهای التهابی و بیومارکرهای استرس اکسیداتیو در ابتدا و انتهای مداخله اندازه گیری خواهد شد.

Effect of supplementation in treatment of Coronary Heart Disease

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria:
Subjects aged 40-85 years Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease
Exclusion criteria:
Smokers Consuming selenium or antioxidant supplements within the past 3 months Having an acute myocardial infarction within the past 3 months Having cardiac surgery within the past 3 months A major renal or liver failure

Randomization description
At study baseline and after stratification for pre-intervention BMI and age, subjects will be randomly divided into two groups to take selenium supplements (n = 30) or placebo (n = 30). Randomization will be done by the use of computer-generated random numbers.
