Protocol summary

Summary
Our aim is to determine any differences in the stride-to-stride fluctuations in LBP patient while wearing lumbosacral orthoses ,i.e, CNS can perceive the passive stiffness provided by lumbosacral orthoses and make any motor control adaptations to this enhancement of spine stability.24 subjects with chronic non specific low back pain will participate in the study. subjects will be randomly allocated to control and intervention groups. The control subjects will receive physical therapy (exercises and electrotherapy) and intervention group will receive physical therapy as well as a semirigid LSO for 6 weeks, 6-8 hour a day.Inclusion criteria will be as patient with chronic non-specific low back pain and pain intensity from 1 to 6 that their pain lasts at least 6 months. Patient with specific low back pain and referral neurological pain to distal of lower limbs and patients who previously used lumbar support will be excluded. Pain and functional outcomes will be recorded using numerical pain rating scale, Oswestry disability index, and fear avoidance belief questionnaire. The data collection will do at first day of treatment and repeat at 3 weeks and 6 weeks after treatment. Subjects will be followed one month after the end of treatment.

Inclusion/Exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria Patients with chronic non-specific low back pain; Low back pain intensity from 1 to 6; Low back pain for at least 6 months; There should be acute exacerbation periods of low back pain; 3 months from the last treatment session; Age between 18 to 50 years; Subjects could be able to walk with preferred walking speed for 10 minutes so that pain is not barrier for walking Exclusion criteria Specific low back pain such as disk herniation, fracture, spondylolisthesis; Referral pain in the lower limbs; History of spinal surgery; History of trauma resulted in sprain, dislocation and fracture in spinal area; Any surgical intervention in pelvis and lower limbs; Use of any medication that influence walking; Any previous use of lumbar supports - gait imbalance and use of assistive devices
